I’m a Chicago native who came to call North Carolina home. I am self-taught as a photographer. A lot of what I learned about photography comes from nearly 20 years in television news, where I learned the importance of looking for and capturing organic images that tell a story. For me, documenting people and events as a photojournalist is an opportunity to capture the essence of who we are and what’s important to us in a moment in time.  This is an important role, especially on wedding days because it’s so intense and so incredibly personal – there’s such a rush of emotion and a flurry of activity ..important people everywhere, and in the blink of an eye, the bride and groom have dressed, said vows, hugged a blur of people, maybe had a piece of cake – and then the day is ….over.
